Chronic Pain Management in Veterans with Co-occurring Substance Use Disorders
The goal of this VA HSR&D career development award is to characterize pain treatment utilization in veterans with co-occurring substance use disorders and develop and test the preliminary effectiveness of a collaborative pain intervention for veterans with chronic pain receiving specialty treatment for alcohol and drug use disorders.

Nationwide telehealth study funded by the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health
The goal of this study is to determine if a type of counseling delivered over the telephone can improve the quality and safety of romantic and sexual relationships of people living and aging with HIV. A secondary goal of the study is to determine if the telephone counseling can also improve mood for people who are experiencing depression.
